Fuel Additive System Upgrades

Our top tier Client was seeking to undertake an Engineering and Design study for their Additive System Upgrade for the receipt, storage and injection of two approved additives into products at the road loading gantry.

The scope of work included:

  • Installation of two new additive injection package systems at the Pelican Point facility to the existing truck loading gantry
  • Each injection system was expected to include a 35kL capacity horizontal storage tank, unloading pump, additive injection skid and associated facilities.
  • Identification & Select phase for the definition of scope and development of engineering driven by achievement of the quality levels of the AACEI 18R97 (2020) Cost Estimate Classification System – Process Industries.

BPM Projects completed the following phase objectives:

  • Project definition to AACEI Class 3 (-20%/+30%) estimate with a corresponding schedule, including a defined project scope
  • Hazard Identification (HAZID)
  • Engagement of trusted subcontractors for the performance of Electrical and Instrumentation scope of work.

Outcome

BPM performed beyond the required identification phase and completed a combined identification/select phase. Combining these phases as a single program of work represented a cost saving, schedule agility and aimed to support a quicker FID decision for our client.​
