Flood Modelling – Client sites

BPM Projects performed a complex stormwater study to identify the contributing factors and circumstances that inundated a terminal facility in New South Wales. This event was reported in the public domain.

BPM Projects subsequently performed a series of flood studies for eight (8) terminal facilities, two (2) depots and a pumping station located on the Eastern seaboard. The flood studies focused on potential loss of containment risks and mitigation actions.

Employing HEC RAS and QGIS modelling software, combined with topographic survey and rainfall data, BPM Projects can develop a prediction of water flow and peak flood elevation for 1 in 10, 1 in 100 and 1 in 500-year rainfall events.

Based on the developed flood model, BPM Projects can perform engineering and design for simple infrastructure to prevent damage to assets from flood events.
